Rural Sports Development in India
Sports For Development

Sports play an integral role in the development of a well-rounded personality. Respecting one’s opponent, thinking as a team, leadership, learning the spirit of the game are just some of the skills that one learns at the sport ground. Under our Sports for Development program, we focus on children between the ages of 6 to 17. We encourage them to come and play tough sports like basketball and football and leverage this chance to also engage them in activities which would provide mental and emotional stimuli thus resulting in their overall development. Through various sports activities, we target general awareness, understanding about nutrition, basic arithmetic, and communication skills.

I wish to be a sports coach in the future. Earlier I didn’t have any coaches to guide me, point out my mistakes or even help in improving my skills. AU Sports for Developments programme has helped me in getting all these things free of cost, which is something that I would never have been able to afford otherwise.

Our Project

AU Bank Sports Village

The AU Bank Sports Village is a sports intervention program that strives to bring about a subtle social change in the rural community of Mahapura. By using sports to bring children together from neighbouring communities, we’re driving a unique program that aids in these children’s physical, mental, and emotional development.

  • The Sports Village project is one of our most ambitious projects where our primary aim is the physical, mental, and emotional development of children.
  • With the use of sports as an intervention, we’re trying to bring a positive change in children as well as the communities they live in.
  • At our AU Sports Village, children from various age groups are taken in, encouraged and taught to play various sports, which then helps then in building their physical health.
  • The programme works on the wholesome development of children by contributing to not only their physical but mental and emotional health as well.
